Bio

With over 20 years of experience, Brian T. Wolfe, DMA, is a performing arts and higher education leader whose career bridges arts administration, philanthropy, music performance, and educational leadership. His work centers on strengthening arts organizations through strategic fundraising, institutional collaboration, community engagement, and transformational student experiences.

Currently serving as Director of Development at Oklahoma City University, Brian works across internationally recognized performing arts programs at Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment, School of Theatre, and Wanda L. Bass School of Music, as well as the Kramer School of Nursing, to connect donors, alumni, and community leaders with opportunities that directly support student success and artistic and academic excellence. At Oklahoma City Ballet, Brian helped strengthen donor engagement and community support surrounding the launch of the company’s new production of The Nutcracker, building excitement and philanthropic investment around one of the organization’s signature artistic initiatives. His leadership approach combines relationship-driven fundraising with a deep understanding of the artistic and academic processes, helping translate creative vision into sustainable institutional growth.

Before transitioning into academic leadership, Brian built a diverse career as a music educator, conductor, performer, and speaker. He began his teaching career in Tucson, Arizona, as Director of Bands at Rincon/University High School, with his ensembles performing throughout the United States and Europe.

Brian taught and directed for 14 seasons in higher education with “The Pride of Oklahoma”, serving as Assistant Director of Athletic Bands, Conductor of the Campus Bands, and Director of the “Sound of the Sooners” Men’s and Women’s Basketball Bands. His background in higher education, horn performance, student leadership development, and large ensemble coordination gives him a firsthand understanding of the discipline, collaboration, and artistic excellence essential to successful performing arts organizations.

Dr. Wolfe’s international work includes teaching and conducting in Costa Rica, where he collaborates with students and music educators through music leadership and instructional programs. These experiences strengthened his passion for the arts as a global tool for education, connection, and cultural exchange.

Dr. Wolfe holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in wind conducting from University of Oklahoma, a Master of Music degree in wind conducting from University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Music Education degree from University of Arkansas.

Brian’s leadership philosophy is rooted in collaboration, artistic advocacy, and the belief that the performing arts have the power to transform individuals, institutions, and communities.
